About Taro Health

Taro Health’s mission is to provide affordable, high-quality, relationship-based health care to all by redefining health insurance. We are building a totally new health insurance company from the ground up — one that is focused on reducing friction for doctors and patients, and investing in ways to create more meaningful doctor-patient relationships.

We believe unrushed conversations with doctors lead to better health and lower costs for patients. Our health plans enable all members to have free and frictionless access to a dedicated doctor they know and trust. We’re excited to be creating health insurance plans you can actually use.

We’re backed by top investors and are looking for values-aligned individuals to join our NYC-based founding team.

About the role

Taro Health is in its early stages. Each new team member has the opportunity to significantly shape our culture, product, strategy, and operations. Candidates should be eager to work in a dynamic, fast-moving environment where their contributions have a direct and outsized impact.

This is our first marketing hire, so the role will be a mixture of product marketing, content marketing, and growth marketing. Ultimately, you will be responsible for not only shaping our marketing strategy, but more importantly executing on it. This includes creating the content and other collateral for all of our customer acquisition channels (brokers, providers, direct), and developing the stakeholder relationships necessary to be successful. You do not have to have deep experience in all areas of marketing, but you should be excited to learn fast in areas you are less experienced. You naturally lean more towards wanting to operationalize your idea rather than thinking about it.

You will work directly with the founders owning key decisions, managing unexpected variables, and driving outcomes amidst high ambiguity. To succeed, you must have insatiable curiosity, optimistic grit, and a strong sense of self awareness and humility. You should want to be part of a team, and aspire for the lifelong bonds that come with doing hard things well, together.

We expect your role to evolve and grow quickly. As an early stage employee, you should want to “give up your Legos” over time.

Job Requirements

  • Develop and implement full marketing campaigns across multiple, diverse channels - each with a very different set of nuances
  • Create and curate new content for different audiences, including copy and some design work
  • Interview, learn from, and develop relationships with key stakeholders (brokers, providers) that play a critical role in marketing
  • Bring an executional and operational approach, then figure the right augmented resources needed to hit our goals
  • Partner with founders to understand the broader company goals/vision, and break down those goals into a strategy and implementation plan, and track progress against those goals
  • Lead day-to-day communication with external stakeholders and partners
  • Help recruit, hire, onboard, and train amazing new team members

Relevant Experience

  • We are open to different starting levels, and therefore have no hard requirement around minimum years of work experience
  • You have made an outsized impact in a previous technology, healthcare, or healthcare technology company — preferably a startup
  • You are deeply interested in the healthcare insurance industry
  • You have led the delivery of complex and cross-functional programs, and have extensive experience problem solving through ambiguous operational and strategic issues
  • You have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • You have helped others succeed in their careers, and elevated work product quality from those around you
  • You have strong executive presence and communication skills, and a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders

You will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
